Ball of kitchen cotton (sample knitted using Peaches n’ Cream and is 2 rows short)

Size 7 straight needles

Finished size:

9” x 10”

Gauge:

8.5 st and 12 rows in 2” of stockinette stitch

(Note: Gauge is not critical for this project.)

Directions:

CO 40 st.

Row 1 (RS): k3, p6, (k4, p3) 4 times, k3.

Row 2: p3, (k3, p4) 4 times, k6, p3.

Row 3: k1, (p3, k4) 5 times, k1.

Row 4: p1, (k3, p4) 5 times, p1.

Row 5: p2, k4, p3, k1, p3, (k4, p3) 3 times, k4, p2.

Row 6: k2, (p4, k3) 4 times, p1, k3, p4, k2.

Row 7: k4, p3, k5, p3, (k4, p3) 3 times, k4.

    I love this pattern but on rows 3 and 4 the rows do not add up to 40 stitches. Could you help me out with this? Thank you very much for sharing this lovely pattern. Joyce

    • Absolutely–thank you so much for bringing it to my attention! Here’s how those two rows should read:

      Row 3: k1, (p3, k4) 5 times, p3, k1.

      Row 4: p1, (k3, p4) 5 times, k3, p1.

    Hi! Thanks so much for sharing your pattern. I haven’t knitted in a very long time. It was nice to get back to knitting & be able to make something so cute in a short amount of time. It was a perfect gift sent it to a friend whose birthday is near Valentine’s Day.
